Authentic Thai Silk
Thai Silk was once considered the fabric of royalty. Eternally elegant, silk is also flame retardant and has antibacterial properties.
Silk is lustrous and can absorb an amazing 30% of its dry weight in moisture, giving it similar properties to wool. Silk is, therefore, a comfortable year-round fibre to wear. Silk has warmth without weight. It is warm to touch and warm to wear. It breathes so ideal as a summer fibre but makes for lightweight insulation in the cold. It is warm without having any bulk at all
100% Authentic Thai Silk
We source most of our silk from Thailand. Authentic Thai silk is soft but has a relatively coarse texture with slightly knotty threads, which make it particularly suitable for hand weaving.
Traditionally Thai silk is handwoven; each silk fabric is unique and is unable to be duplicated through commercial means. Thai silk has a unique lustre, with a sheen that has two unique blends: one colour for the warp and another for the weft.
